Valentines Day Ideas
It is Valentine's Day, a time to celebrate the relationships with the ones we love. Whether you are single or in a relationship, more often than not you can find this day to be filled with commercial clichés, expensive gifts and disappointment. Therefore, with the help of the X NIHILO team, we have rounded up some of our favourite Valentine's day activities, and no, we are not talking teddy bears and chocolate.
- A dinner date with friends
Valentines is the day to celebrate love, regardless of the relationship status. Gather your loved ones and host a potluck. Everyone brings a plate and a bottle of wine, letting the quality time with friends take away Valentine's day pressures. We often celebrate our partners but how often do we celebrate our friends?
- Glamping
One of my favourite things to do on Valentine's day is to get out of town. If you live in a big city like me, more often than not you find yourself frequenting the same spots and in much need of some fresh air and nature. The good thing about Glamping is that you can bring your creature comforts to the country (um sleeping bags, no thanks), so take a weekend away and reconnect with your loved one.
- Spa day
Let's be honest, how often have you thought about doing a spa day and never actually got a chance to do it? Make the day even better by arranging a spa day with your significant other or a group of friends. More often than not spas will try to capitalise on Valentine's day and you can too, grab a Valentine's day package and bliss out.
- Dancing
I mean real dancing here. For example something like Salsa or anything that you find gets you in your groove. Daunting? Yes. Fun? Absolutely. Not only that but it is a great way to connect with your significant other and get out of comfort zone. No matter if you are lacking a dance partner, grab your friends and try out a pole dancing class. Not only will you feel sexy, you will also get a killer workout too.
- A second first date
One of the favourite things I like to do when I visit my hometown with my boyfriend is to visit the place we went on our first date. We were both broke students at the time, and the restaurant was a hole in the wall but there is always something about recreating the first date that makes it very special. Spend your time reminiscing and look to how far you have come together.
I would love to hear about your favourite Valentine's day! What made it so special?
